I am pleased to welcome everyone interested in journalism and committed to preserving and developing this profession in our country to my website.
I'm Daria Burlakova, a journalist. I've been working with various publications since 2012. The events of recent years, including the closure and exile of several media outlets from Russia, led me to the decision to launch my own website to publish socially significant materials without censorship.
The first series of publications will focus on the situation at Kommersant Publishing House, Russia's leading business publication, where I worked for over three years. In 2024, Kommersant underwent personnel changes that led to a management and ethical crisis, a denigration of employees' human dignity, violations of their labor rights, forced layoffs and high turnover.
The open and consistent dialogue I initiated with Kommersant's management, as well as constructive proposals for overcoming the crisis, did not lead to a positive outcome. Instead of admitting their mistakes and taking anti-crisis measures, Kommersant's current management continued to violate the law and illegally dismissed me from the media holding.
This has led to a trial that begins on October 30.
